The Californian-Italian Mezzo-soprano, Amber Fasquelle, is a leading innovative artist of her generation. Her work as a singer spans the operatic repertoire, early music repertoire, Lied and contemporary music traditions.
Amber’s career blossomed after joining the DeutscheOper Berlin for her first contract in Europe after winning first prize in the Opera Foundation competition in New York City. Amber was invited by Placido Domingo to join his Opera Studio in Valencia Spain which she finished as one of 12 finalists in the international Montserrat Caballe competition.
Currently Amber is an ensemble member of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg where she will premiere leading roles in 2026 as Oktavian in Der Rosenkavalier, Dorabella in Così fan Tutte and Aspasia in Baroque Oper Schwetzingen's Steffani Opera Alcibiades.
Beyond her work with Opera companies in Berlin and Valencia, Amber has worked closely with Theater Freiburg, Cincinnati Opera, and taken part in world premiere music festivals where she performed leading roles with: Aspen Music Festival, Opera Theater St.Louis, and the Britten-Pears Aldeburgh festival.

Amber performed the role of Aspasia in BaroqueFest Winter in Schwetzingen's Steffani opera Alcibiades, or Der in seiner Freiheit vergnügte Alcibiades.
